This Privacy Policy explains how PDFDesk ("we", "us", "our") handles information when you use usepdfdesks.com. We take your privacy seriously. Our tools are designed to work entirely in your browser so your documents never pass through our servers.

1. Information We Collect

Usage analytics: We may collect anonymous, aggregated data about how visitors use the website — such as pages visited, time on site, browser type, and referring URL. This data does not identify you personally and is used solely to improve the website.

Theme preference: We store your chosen theme (light or dark mode) in your browser's localStorage. This data lives only on your device and is never transmitted to us.

Contact form submissions: If you contact us via our contact form or email, we receive the name, email address, and message you voluntarily provide.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

Your files: PDFDesk does not collect, receive, upload, or store any files you process using our tools. All PDF processing happens locally within your browser using JavaScript. Your documents never leave your device and are never transmitted to us.

Personal information: We do not ask for your name, email address, or any personal information to use our tools. No account creation is required.

3. Browser-Based File Processing

PDFDesk's tools — including PDF to Text and Text to PDF — process your files entirely within your web browser. When you use these tools:

  • No file is uploaded to our servers.
  • No file content is transmitted over the internet to us.
  • All processing uses open-source libraries running locally: PDF.js (by Mozilla) for PDF reading, and jsPDF for PDF generation.
  • When you close the browser tab, any file data held in memory is discarded automatically.

4. Cookies

PDFDesk uses cookies and similar technologies to operate the website and to understand how it is used. This includes functional cookies (such as your saved theme preference) and analytics cookies set by Google Analytics. If we display advertising on the site, third-party advertising providers — including Google — may also set cookies on your device, as described in sections 5 and 6 below.

5. Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate website usage — such as which pages are visited, how long visitors spend on the site, device and browser type, and approximate location. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect this information. The data is anonymous, used solely to improve the website, and is never linked to the files you process. You can review how Google handles this data at policies.google.com/privacy, and opt out of Google Analytics using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

6. Advertising

PDFDesk may display advertisements served by third-party advertising companies, including Google AdSense. These vendors may use cookies, web beacons, or similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.

Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to PDFDesk and/or other sites on the Internet. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.

7. Third-Party Services

PDFDesk loads resources from the following third-party services. These services may log network requests as part of their normal operation:

  • Google Fonts — used to load the Inter typeface from Google's CDN.
  • Google Analytics — used to measure website traffic and usage (see section 5).
  • Google AdSense — used to display advertising (see section 6).
  • PDF.js CDN (Mozilla) — used for PDF text extraction.
  • jsPDF CDN — used for PDF generation.

8. Data Security

Because we do not receive or store your files, we cannot expose them. Your documents are processed entirely on your device. We use HTTPS to secure all communication between your browser and our website.

9. Children's Privacy

PDFDesk does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us so we can promptly delete it.
